This hospice falls short in providing comfort care, causing discomfort for patients, their families, and even offering ill-advised medical advice. Negligence and soulless employees contribute to this unsettling experience. Last fall, my 88-year-old grandmother with advanced Alzheimer's was admitted under relentless hospital pressure. The hospice experience began as a disaster. Disheveled and stressed, my grandmother arrived after being disgracefully kicked out of the hospital ER. Unfortunately, no one from the hospice was available to assist with the machines and medicine.
