What does its Google listing say about the business?
Motive Training is a one-on-one personal training and mobility studio in St. Elmo, South Austin, just off South Congress. Every program starts with a joint-by-joint movement assessment built on Functional Range Conditioning (FRC), so training is aimed at how your body actually moves instead of a template. We work with people coming off physical therapy, people with recurring pain or stiffness, and people who want to get strong without getting hurt. Training is by appointment. We also teach small, coached KINSTRETCH stretching classes, pay what you can, and KINSTRETCH Online for training from anywhere. We are not a bootcamp or HIIT gym.

I’ve been fitness training with Brian C for several months and he’s been great: he pays attention to my personal goals and any physical issues and adjusts accordingly, while keeping me progressing. At his suggestion I began joining the CARS classes at Motive and really like them: the emphasis on improved mobility has been great for my various middle-aged stiffness, the rest of the crew are warm and welcoming, and the class vibe is very friendly and relaxed. Great experience!
I've had chronic neck, shoulder, and upper back pain due to an injury and have seen countless doctors for help. Brian and his team at Motive were the first to take the time to do a full body assessment where they evaluated every joint and the range of motion. Brian was the first to be able to explain to me the issues preventing healing AND help me rehab it. He went above and beyond to give me every tool to set me up for success in the future. With his help I was so humbled to discover I had no awareness of a lot of areas I had been unconsciously compensating for.
I started with Motive training because I felt like I needed to get back into shape in a safe way that I wasn’t hurting my body. I had goals that I wanted to accomplish, and I knew I was going to have to start from the beginning since it had been so long since I had been out of the gym. I started my training with Mitch and after a few sessions I was already hitting some of the goals I had for myself. I also worked with Stone, someone who was also very patient and knowledgeable with how to get me where I wanted to go safely.
